On consumer level you can save energy by using recycled products like recycled paper towels, recycled paper notebooks. You can carry your own bag to grocery or mall shopping and help reduce the use of plastic bags.
You can use refillable soap dispensers to reduce plastic bottle trash.
You can use Fuel efficient cars.
Do carpool.
Turnoff the lights when not needed.
Use maximum natural light and ventilation.
Upgrade appliances to energy star ones.
Switch to LED lights.
When renovating house.. Make sure to use green building certified materials.

Why save energy in the home?

For household and businesses, why is there such a crisis to save energy?

I see all the tips on saving energy and smog control etc. But why do we need to reduce electrical energy? What’s the big deal?

admin answers:

Because buildings, not cars, produce the most carbon dioxide in the U.S. They account for 38% of the nations carbon dioxide emissions, and this is mainly through electricity use. Also, our electricity is generated through a limited resources (fossil fuels), so we should spend it wisely.

Plus, Saving energy saves you money. I didn’t realize just how much until I started cutting my electricity usage and unplugging things, and I actually saw a difference in my electricity bill.

Tips on how to minimize brain power use (I need to save energy and save it up for things useful)?

I have read articles on the web but would like real-people experience and thoughts:

- How do you achieve mental relaxation.
- What are some of the ways to “not sweat the small things”
- Any ideas of saving brain energy.

Try observing and not getting involved in situations you normally would. It’s quite difficult, but makes you realise how often we get involved in stuff that is actually nothing to do with us and get owrried, concerned about things and people that is not helping them or us.

5) Do not run an extension cord under a carpet.
6) Install GFI outlets or circuits in the kitchen, bathroom and outside outlets.
7) Do not plug an extension cord or power strip into another power-strip. icon cool Your Questions About Save Energy Tips If a device states that there are no user serviceable parts inside, remember that you are the user, not a repairman.

1) Turn off your water heater when you are going to be gone for a few days.
2) Unplug your chargers when your phones or iPod are not being charged.
3) Unplug TVs, VCRs, DVDs, Microwaves etc when you are going to be gone. They all have a little parasitic current draw that keeps them in a standby mode rather than the no energy draw of actually being off.
4) CFLs may use less energy than incandescents but have negative ecological of their own. Change to LED lighting where possible.
5) Watch a movie with friends and family. It takes the same amount of electricity for you to watch a DVD by yourself as it does for a room full of people. Plus it is more fun to watch it with others.
6) Play cards or board games instead of Xbox or Playstation.
Get off the sofa and play real sports instead of wii sports.
7) Take class notes on paper not a laptop. Not only do you save on the electricity during class but you may refer to your notes without using any electricity. Afterwards you may go over your notes and input them to reaffirm your knowledge.

Cut the heat down to 68. Lower the temperature setting of your hot water heater to the lowest setting-drain the hot water heater, periodically to remove mineral build-up.Change your filters on your furnace or heat pump at regular intervals, at least monthly. Use compact fluorescent light bulbs.
When you are not going to be home-such as at work, turn the heat down to 60 degrees. Buy a programmable thermostat , if you can afford one, that way, you can come home to a 68 degree house, instead of a 60 degree house.get an electric blanket, that way you can turn the heat down to 65 at night and turn it up to 68 when you wake up. Use a Microwave and Crock Pot, when possible.A toaster oven uses less electricity than a full sized oven since it does not have as much space to heat up, so use one when possible.Turn off all lights when you are not in the room.Believe it or not, a Dishwasher uses less water and electricity than washing dishes by hand, If you can afford one, buy a Front Loading Washing Machine. Wash clothes in cold water-there are several excellent cold water formulated laundry detergents-I use BioKleen Cold Water Formula and it only takes an ounce to get even my husband’s greasy;grimy clothes clean.Plus, it is formulated for HE washing machines. Dry your clothes on a clothes line and fluff them up in the dryer for 15 minutes on low, or No Heat to get rid of the lint.Make sure you use a liquid softener-the cheap stuff works fine and in a pinch-diluted hair conditioner works-otherwise line drying can make your clothes kinda stiff,.Purchase a Navy Shower Shower Head, you can turn it off by pushing in a button after you get wet and soaped up, then turn it back on to rinse off.Turn the water off after you get your toothbrush wet and fill the cup you use to rinse your mouth with, then turn the water back on to rinse your toothbrush and the sink.
I hope this helps some.

Tips for saving energy in playing soccer?

Okay, so i play soccer a lot. But when i play it about 40-50 minutes i lose my energy. So could you please find a way so i can save my energy but still play like i use to?

admin answers:

You need to be fit to play the 90 minutes or more.
You need to be tactically aware and properly coached so that you maintain your postion within the team structure and don’t go tearing around the pitch needlessly wasting energy.
You need to “make the ball do the work”. It’s pointless taking on and beating 3 opponents only to .lose out to the fourth. A well placed pass would achieve more and use up much less energy.
Become fit and tactically/strategically aware. See the links in the sidebar of http://www.bestbetsoccer.com/blog.
