Question on basic windmill mechanics?
This might be an excess of information
There is a windmill, whose rotor can rotate freely in the vertical plane.
There is no frictional force.
In fact, let us assume that there is no contact force whatsoever
between the rotor and any other thing.
The rotor has four blades.
The rotor is completely at rest.
Two blades lie horizontally and the other two vertically.
The center of mass of the rotor is on the rotational axis.
The potential energy of the rotor is Mgh where h is the height
of the center of mass, and M is the total mass of the rotor.
There is absolutely no wind.
Then, there is a momentary puff of wind.
Then again, there is absolutely no wind.
The momentary wind gives the rotor a small angular velocity.
For the subsequent motion of the rotor,
Is the potential energy constant?
Is the rotational kinetic energy constant?
Is the angular momentum constant
Is uniform circular motion happening?

Can Liberals live without oil?
Liberal foreign policy and energy policy fail to address the fact we need the worlds economic life blood. Every windmill ever made can’t produce as much energy as 1 oil rig. Do liberals live in a fantasy green energy land or is this an anti energy plan to crash our economy.
admin answers:
Not only that, but they seem to assume we all earn $250,000 a year and can afford these nonsensical ideas.
Sorry libs, but I can’t afford to buy a car that runs on solar power. I don’t have the $200,00 for the car or live in an environment that has that much sun.
Do libs even realize that some of us don’t live in California? LOL
BTW yahoo is scared of posting my question about TRUE racial equality for everyone.

81:c the kinetic energy _____ purely a rotational kinetic energy.
82:c the kinetic energy of r+m _____ constant.
83:c the motion of r+m _____ a circular motion.
84:c the motion of r+m _____ a uniform circular motion.
85:c the magnitude of the tangential accel. of the monkey _____ constant.
86:c the magnitude of the centripetal accel. of the monkey _____ constant.
87: The angular momentum of the monkey just before the landing is _____ J s.
Right after landing, the total angular momentum of r+m is also this value,
assuming that the time between “just before the landing” and
“just after the landing” is essentially zero.
[Since then, any angular momentum change of the total system is zero,
because d(angular momentum) = torque dt = 0, if dt = 0.]
88: The rotational inertia of r+m is _____ kg m^2.
89: The angular velocity of r+m just after the landing is _____ rad/s.
90: The total mechanical energy just after the landing is _____ J.
91: The total mechanical energy just before the landing is _____ J.
92:c Apparently, the total mechanical energy _____ conserved DURING
the landing, and that is quite OK.
The direction of the angular velocity of the monkey will not change at least
for the initial 180 degree rotation, independent of the monkey’s landing speed.
93:c This last statement is _____.
For the specific value of the monkey’s landing speed (and other parameters)
given above, the resulting motion will be a swinging back and forth
(an oscillation), instead of a going round and round.
94:c This last statement is _____.
The minimum amount of angle that the monkey needs to rotate before it
95: reaches its minimum speed is _____ degrees.

Are Al Gore and the climate change crowd the 21st century equivalent of the ‘you have angered the gods’ crowd?
It used to be ‘global warming’ but since the ‘globe’ was not, in fact, ‘warming, it is now ‘climate change’. This allows the followers of this religion to blame any unusual climatological event on the evils of man while ignoring the ‘sunny days’. As a result, are these folks not the 21st century equivalent to the ‘they must have angered the gods!’ crowd using quasi-science to justify the actions of their god? Are their representatives in congress not establishing a religion in our nation and building monuments to this god with every windmill and solar panel? I’m sure the Hawaiian islanders felt very rational and informed when blaming the volcano’s eruption on some poor sap as a justification before throwing his butt into the smoking crater.
Hey, I’m all for a clean environment and cheap energy. I mean that is just common sense. But come on, do we really have to create a whole new religion and ‘belief system’ with associated ‘consequences’ if we don’t worship the weather god?
General: And, I could find you just as solid, tested, undeniable evidence to the contrary. The skepticism, it seems, is not an ‘internet’ phenomenon as your article claims, but a growing skepticism in the scientific community based on growing evidence, again, to the contrary. So, the debate continues. Is there or is there not a god?

Global Warming Myth Pushers, why do you never/rarely criticize China?
I know a lot of you GW myth pushers that never mention China’s environmental record, but choose to bash the United States constantly instead. In fact, many of you have talked up China, bragging about how far ahead they are of the US when it comes to alternative energy sources…which I find funny considering that liberals are the first people to complain when someone tries to put up a windmill farm on THEIR OWN LAND. I also find the defense of China interesting since they take in so much electrical and chemical e-waste, which children play in barefoot….and if you try to photograph this the gov’t will seize your camera or imprison you. So, why the insane defense in regards to China’s environmental record, while constant bashing of the US? What is it about an anti-religion, extremely centrally planned socialist country that warms the hearts of liberals so much?
admin answers:
All Global Warming Myth Pushers love chairman Mao and Chairman MaoBama. As long as they can live off the gubment dole, they are in the chips!! Their goal is to have government control all our lives and a one world government that would care for them from cradle to grave. Why do you think the alarmists spend all their time here? They hope the exploitation of 4 billion years of constant climate change will finally secure their government paid prescriptions and housing payments. Long live the worthless liberal!! Si, se pwedo!!
