Richard asks…
Why won’t my iPod touch connect to the internet?
My iPod touch usually connects to the internet with very few problems, and has done this fine since I got it in late 2007 (I have the original touch). The other night while I was surfing the web, I randomly got a pop-up that said the password for my Wi-Fi connection was wrong. This occurs quite regularly, and usually I can just hit cancel on the pop-up, go to my home screen, open up Wi-Fi settings in Settings, and re-select my Wi-Fi connection and connect without having to enter the password. This time, however, it did make me enter the password. So I did, and it made it seem as though I was connected. I got 3 signal bars, but when I opened Safari back up and tried to load a page, the screen dimmed and it said “Connecting…” in the middle of the screen. After about 2 minutes of it saying this without seeming to progress at all, I went back to the home screen and opened back up my Wi-Fi settings. I clicked the blue arrow next to my Wi-Fi connection, and noticed that all fields except for the “IP Address” and “Subnet Mask” fields were blank. It wouldn’t let me click on those two fields or “Router” to edit them. Does anyone know why this randomly happened and how to fix it? My Wi-Fi still works perfectly on my iMac, cell phone, Xbox 360, PS3, and TV, so I know it doesn’t have anything to do with the connection itself. Also, I tried my neighbor’s unlocked Wi-Fi connection that I pick up in certain areas of my house on the iPod, and it seemed to work fine (but if I moved at all, the signal faded completely). It is a very odd and irritating issue. Any help would truly be appreciated. Thanks.
@Kobe Bryant,
thanks for the incredibly enlightening answer, you fücking prick.

Trun off your ipod. Then unplug your router for a minute and plug it back in. Wait a minute for it to recover and turn your ipod back on. That should do it. Sometimes something gets hung up in the router and needs to be cleared.

Plug it into your computer, Open Itunes
Then click on the iPod when iTunes is open
In here you will see a Restore
Click this button
Now it will ask it you want to restore from backup, Say YES
Now im guessing, but the last time you plugged it in your computer, it will have created a backup
This will now restore the iPod using this backup
If you had a passcode before, then it will be back to what it was before, however if you didnt, it should be good as new (But with all files still there)
