Carol Your Questions About Windmill Farms

Carol asks…

In practical terms how much of energy does one windmill in a wind farm produce per day. How many car batteries

worth?

admin answers:

Average wind turbine is about 3MW, with about 30% utilization, that comes to 1MW. In one day that is 24 MW-hrs.

A large car battery can store about 1000 watt-hrs. So if you used that energy over the length of the day, ie, started out charged, ended the day discharged, then you will get 1000 watt-hrs in a day.

Divide the two and you get 24000. But at the end of the day, the wind turbine will still be running and you will have 24000 dead batteries.

Mark Your Questions About Windmill Farms

Mark asks…

I need some notes on the building of the windmill in animal farm.?

For english prep i need some notes from the builing of the windmill.

admin answers:

Here is what Spark Notes has to say – it’s very good.
The Windmill
The great windmill symbolizes the pigs’ manipulation of the other animals for their own gain. Despite the immediacy of the need for food and warmth, the pigs exploit Boxer and the other common animals by making them undertake backbreaking labor to build the windmill, which will ultimately earn the pigs more money and thus increase their power. The pigs’ declaration that Snowball is responsible for the windmill’s first collapse constitutes psychological manipulation, as it prevents the common animals from doubting the pigs’ abilities and unites them against a supposed enemy. The ultimate conversion of the windmill to commercial use is one more sign of the pigs’ betrayal of their fellow animals. From an allegorical point of view, the windmill represents the enormous modernization projects undertaken in Soviet Russia after the Russian Revolution.
You will have to paraphrase this ’cause Teacher reads Sparknotes too!
